To Whom It May Concern

a friend said -  you and  (FILL IN THE BLANKS) used to hang out alot. What happened?

i said- i was doing all the texting and initiating.when i stopped I never heard from (FILL IN THE BLANKS) again. 

and the friend said -  you and  (FILL IN THE BLANKS) used to hang out alot also. What happened?

i said- i was doing all the texting and initiating.when i stopped I never heard from (FILL IN THE BLANKS) again also. 

and the friend said- wow. you and  (FILL IN THE BLANKS) used to hang out alot also. What happened?

i said- i was doing all the texting and initiating.when i stopped I never heard from (FILL IN THE BLANKS) again also. 

and the friend said- for real? you and  (FILL IN THE BLANKS) used to hang out alot also. What happened?

i said- i was doing all the texting and initiating.when i stopped I never heard from (FILL IN THE BLANKS) again also. 

and the friend said- wow. you and  (FILL IN THE BLANKS) used to hang out alot also. What happened?

and the friend said- uh. you and  (FILL IN THE BLANKS) used to hang out alot also. What happened?

and the friend said- uh. you and  (FILL IN THE BLANKS) used to hang out alot also. What happened?

i said- i was doing all the texting and initiating.when i stopped I never heard from (FILL IN THE BLANKS) again also. 

And the friend said, then why are you and I still friends after all these years?  

I said, because you're a friend. You know how to pick up a phone and text and call. I don't have to initiate it all the time. 

and the friend said- well maybe they got some things going on in their lives and they're just too busy.

i said - You and your wife live in Johannesburg South Africa, and I hear from you 2-3 times a month.   You're  in medical school, your wife is currently undergoing chemo, and your dad has alzheimers and yet you will still call. It's only for about 5 minutes at a time, but it means alot to me. Like I said, you're a friend.  Those others were not friends.   Friends you have to chase, are not your friends. 

And the friend said, true.
