My facebook post today

Yesterday was a good day. Not only did I get a promotion at work, I was also asked to be sent the results of the gender of a baby two friends of mine are having; for an upcoming gender reveal celebration, I get to bake a cake that will be either blue or pink, depending on the gender results of which I will know before the parents do. That is indeed an honor!
I don't know what I'll make, but a White Chocolate-Cake-with Mascarpone-Coconut-Frosting comes to mind.

My Current Facebook Status

Quite often I've asked to be treated equally and I've received many excuses that make no sense. Yesterday I stopped asking for permission and I stated what I was going to do, and the response was positive.

Question of the day

Are you the type who adds friends on Facebook but you have no desire to have anything to do with them (based on the fact that you have never liked or commented on any of their postings, you haven't responded to or liked  any comments they've made to your postings, and you haven't responded to any personal messages that they've sent you) ?


I ask this because Adolf Hitler had millions of followers, and Jesus only had 12.

Note to self

for 2013

For me it's self doubt, my obsessive need to put the needs of everyone before my own, my wanting to be appreciated, and after reading someone's  Facebook page about themselves on Christmas, I realized that I don't  think I love myself enough.
I need to remove what is weighing me down. But how? I need to pray on this.

What up FB... Since there are only a few months left in this year 2012, I would like to challenge you guys to TO MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS for the rest of the year! Put that energy into yourself do something u always wanted to do, focus on that dream or goal you have. Go back to school, work on ur credit, learn to cook, learn a different language, beat your kids when they act up but dont tell them why let them figure it out!(i didn't say child abuse). So when 2013 come u will have a better picture of what u would like for the coming year.....

My most recent Facebook status update

@ Mio Sushi Hollywood for lunch with 2 friends (one white, one asian)- why did the waitress completely ignore me as if I wasn't there, and take my friend's food orders ( I had to get her attention when she tried to walk away)  and I never got my drink order that I asked for twice ( my friends got theirs)? She put the bill in the space between my friends, but she didn't realize that lunch was my treat.  Suddenly she noticed me and was nice. Guess what she got for a tip?

Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t care to know if a friend just found a parking spot in another part of the world or if someone just found a pair of shoes they like in their size at a store a thousand miles away from me or if someone just ate the best hamburger at a particular restaurant three states away from me. It there was ever a mundane message, then those are. I have received even more mundane messages than those.


I was encouraged to have a twitter account but I find it to be a waste, a virtual time vampire. No one ever responds to the messages I send. My guess is because they’re legitimate; I’m not telling thousands of strangers that my cat sheds a lot of hair or that the washer at the laundromat is more effective than the washer at home, or that my neighbor is worried about the swine flu. I’m actually messaging editors of poetry magazines or literary agents or screenwriters to get my writings published or made into a screenplay, or helping a friend find job leads. The friends I have on twitter, my real friends, we communicate the old fashioned way. We call each other. Or we email and text each other.

For reasons like that alone, I’m terminating my twitter account.

My brother, whose work life and home life leaves him too busy to mail me pictures of my God-daughter, updates his facebook profile with the pictures. Otherwise I would terminate my facebook account for the same reason.
