It’s Veteran’s Day, also celebrated as Armistice Day or Remembrance Day in other parts of the world, falling on November 11, the anniversary of the signing of the Armistice that ended World War I. (Major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 with the German signing of the Armistice.


U.S. President Woodrow Wilson first proclaimed an Armistice Day for November 11, 1919. I moved from Wisconsin almost 9 years ago. Being away from friends and everything that was home definitely proved to be more challenging than anticipated. I realized this within 5 years. 
Almost 9 years and I'm still thinking it would be nice to find some people to do things with - coffee, movies, clubbing, brunch, church and whatnot. 
So I'm looking for employment. At home. 

Friendships and $$

I would rather have 4-quarters than 100 pennies.
I would rather have a one-dollar bill than 100 pennies.

Think about it. 

acceptance.

 i want a party; a period at the end of a sentence; a large condo with a huge master bedroom, a large kitchen, and large dining room to feed people homemade savory food, homemade french pastries and other baked goods; a woman i love to whisper to me that she loves me just the way i am and that  i am her man. at age 19 with raw skills and talents- i was ok with shooting myself in the foot, sitting down and saying "that was fun." yet a hunger growled...if i missed the mark by this much i'd miss the moon.

thus, with a BS in management and finance, twenty-plus years of employment in the banking and insurance industry and a resume that would cause most to question my sanity- i have admittedly accepted that perhaps, i will not emerge from this life at the oh so pearly gates clear of charge. instead, full of scars, a chronically single man with a thick body, grey hair dyed black, and eyes that gleam & sparkle of abundant passion and hidden loves. i can accept that. i can accept and await the joy hidden in that path. God-willing, i have a long way to go. with lots to do. and i need more answers.

i said - You and your wife live in Johannesburg South Africa, and I hear from you 2-3 times a month.   You're  in medical school, your wife is currently undergoing chemo, and your dad has alzheimers and yet you will still call. It's only for about 5 minutes at a time, but it means alot to me. Like I said, you're a friend.  Those others were not friends.   Friends you have to chase, are not your friends.

words. when i was younger i use to wonder why God did not just line us up and sort each of us out according to our choices- Him being infinite and all knowing, why the necessity of each person living through each life? not that i've fully answered my childhood inquiries, some insight has been gleaned. we really do change. there truly are some pains, some experiences that cannot be substituted, or learned from books- reminding me that this flesh is weaved to me. some things must be done. must be felt. must be ached for. and must be held empty. some loves let go. and some loves left unknown.
