The Universal Concept of Karma

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.  For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.  And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

Galatians  6:7-9 KJV

Karma is a principle that transcends religious boundaries. 🌀⚛️ Whether we look at Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, Jainism, or even philosophies like Stoicism, we find variations of this universal truth. Karma reminds us that our actions have consequences, shaping our present and future. It's a powerful reminder to be mindful of the energy we emit into the world and to make choices that align with our values. Let's embrace this beautiful concept, regardless of our beliefs, and strive to create a world filled with compassion, love, and positive change. 🌍💫❤️

#isisisnotislamic

Yesterday an ISIS member stopped the car of a Christian couple.
ISIS member: Are you Muslim?
Christian man: Yes, I'm Muslim.
ISIS member: If you are a Muslim, then recite a verse of Quran.
Christian man recited a verse from the Bible.

ISIS member: Ok allah go.
Later his wife tells him: "I cannot believe the risk you just took.
Why did u tell him that we are Muslims?
If he knew you were lying he would have killed both of us."
"Do not worry! If they knew the Quran they would not kill people" answered the Husband.
ISIS is not Islam, terrorism has no religion.

--Angelina Jolie

So true. If ISIS represents ALL who follow Islam, then that means, by extension, the KKK represents ALL of Christianity.

- I S M

I would rather not know if someone is a Christian because the more I get to know them, the more I prefer to hang with Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists and Athiests- they tend to be more like Christ then some of the Christians I know. Recently I have witnessed and have heard of some horrible behavior by people who attend church every sunday and can recite Bible verses to fit any situation. It makes me sick to my stomach. I hate hypocrites and people who talk about doing right but constantly act wrong.

That was one of my holdouts when looking for love-  I was not flexible in that regard. Because I want to be able to attend church with my wife and kids I always said that she would need to be a Christian.   As of today, on my Match.com profile I decided she could be of any religion.
As long as  her character, her behaviour was similar to someone who was striving to be like Jesus Christ.

Question of the Day

If God were to ask you why He should let you into Heaven, what would you say?

First of all, thank You for loving me so much that you sacrificed your son Jesus on the cross so that might have life and have  it abundantly. I don't deserve Your love but I am grateful. I've done some things I'm not proud of, and by asking for forgiveness from You, I know that I am automatically forgiven. Thank you.  I'm hoping that You allow me into heaven because I have lived my life according to Your word. I owe you my life. I can thank you all day every day but it will still not be enough for all You have done for me. My back has been against the wall a few times, and proving that You're God, you have performed miracles. You have blessed me in ways that defy logic, and they were always at the 11th hour. You have had my back 100% of the time. I love you, and I hope that one day, You will be able to say to me, 'well done, my good and faithful servant.'     What a day of rejoicing that will be!

this morning

I heard this song on Pandora this morning  ( Kirk Franklin's station) and I had to share it.  Perhaps it's for you.

Happy Birthday, Martin Luther King Jr, today, January 15

Martin Luther King with his family

All of us owe a great debt to Martin Luther King Jr. He had the courage to stand up against injustice without resorting to violence. America is much closer to living out its ideals because he was willing to lay down his life for God’s cause.
Few have had as much impact upon the American consciousness as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. A Baptist minister and passionate fighter for civil rights through non-violent action, he was the closest this country has come to producing a leader with the moral stature of Mohandas Gandhi. When King was assassinated in 1968, citizens in many major cities reacted violently --- while others held vigils and peaceful gatherings. And Americans, black and white, wondered what would happen to his dream.
I hope Monday, the federal holiday set aside to commemorate King’s life and death for the cause of civil rights, will be more than just another day for you. I do believe that God’s intention is that each of us find the cause He created us to pursue and then give ourselves body and soul for the advancement of his Kingdom.

abduction

In the beginning, we soared.  We knew the crackle of constellations, the heat of worlds unborn. Our coupling was cosmic. She said it was in the stars.
When the nights grew cooler, I should have returned to earth, but she promised me the moon. I floated on  clouds.
Now, she's light-years away. No longer the chosen one, I wonder where I've been. Here, in the dark, in church, she left to join a mosque.

A friend challenged me to write a short short story based on the word "abduction", in 75 words or less.  Tell me what you think of the above?

the ABCs

This arrived in my email in-box this morning, and I had to post it;

"Whoever came up with this one must have had some Divine guidance!

Although things are not perfect
Because of trial or pain
Continue in thanksgiving
Do not begin to blame
Even when the times are hard
Fierce winds are bound to blow
God is forever able
Hold on to what you know
Imagine life without His love
J oy would cease to be
Keep thanking Him for all the things
Love imparts to thee
Move out of "Camp Complaining"
No weapon that is known
On earth can yield the power
Praise can do alone
Quit looking at the future
Redeem the time at hand
Start every day with worship
To "thank" is a command
Until we see Him coming
Victorious in the sky
We'll run the race with gratitude
X alting God most high
Y es, there'll be good times and yes some will be bad, but...
Z ion waits in glory...where none are ever sad!

"I AM Too blessed to be stressed!" The shortest distance between a problem and a solution is the distance between your knees and the floor. The one who kneels to the Lord can stand up to anything. Love and peace be with you forever, Amen."

A Quote regarding awards

"My mother used to tell me man gives the award, God gives the reward. I don't need another plaque."

Good things come to those who wait--

"The trees that are slow to grow bear the best fruit."
-- Moliere

When I saw this quote I immediately thought about how, when we're young, we lack patience. As babies we cried, and when our mothers weren't at our beck and call, we'd commence to screaming from the top of our lungs until our needs are met.  We wanted everything quicker than now. We wanted it yesterday. Patience is learned.

Some of us, as adults are still learning; we’re still impatient.

I have a nephew, and when he was very young I couldn’t say no to him, and he knew it. As he got older I learned to say no when I needed to say no. I told him that in life, you may not get everything you want, or as soon as you want it, but that doesn’t mean that I didn’t love him or that I didn’t want him to have that for which he begged. Of course, he still got upset (and threw tantrums from time to time) as he was used to getting everything immediately. He had no idea if I was planning on buying that same item for an upcoming birthday, or if the company or their competitors were soon to release a better product that he would appreciate more.

I thought about it later on. I thought about how we always ask God for an immediate resolution to what we refer to as problems or issues. Then sometimes some of us get upset ( and throw grown-up versions of tantrums) when we don’t get the answer we need when we want it. To use the analogy above, just because He doesn’t give us the answer we need ‘yesterday’, doesn’t mean He doesn’t love us or that He doesn’t want us to have that for which we begged. I know from experience that God is either waiting for a better time to bless us, or He has something better for us. We just need to be patient, and good things will come to us.

Like an eagle

"But they that wait upon the LORD
shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings as EAGLES
they shall run, and not be weary;
and they shall walk, and not faint."....Isaiah 40:31

Did you know that an eagle knows when a storm is approaching long before it breaks? The eagle will fly to some high spot and wait for the winds to come.
When the storm hits, it sets its wings so that the wind will pick it up and lift it above the storm. While the storm rages, below the eagle is soaring above it. The eagle does not escape the storm, it simply uses the storm to lift it higher. It rises on the winds that bring the storm.

When the storms of life come upon us ... and all of us will experience them ... we can rise above them by setting our minds and our belief toward God.

The storms do not have to overcome us, we can allow God's power to lift us above them. God enables us to ride the winds of the storm that bring sickness, tragedy, failure, and disappointment into our lives. We can soar above the storm.

Remember, it is not the burdens of life that weigh us down, it is how we handle them.

I can't take credit for this. I found it, online. I can't even remember what I was looking for. You know like, how, when you do a Google search, and everything pops up except what you're looking for? This was how I came across this. I'm sure I was meant to read this at this exact time in my life. Thanks for Divine Intervention! Always at the right time!

Which way to go?

In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:6
