Have you ever wanted something (or someone) so badly and you prayed and prayed for it (or him or her) and you couldn't eat or sleep or think about anything (or anyone) else and you couldn't function until God gave you what you wanted because it (or he or she) was that missing piece, and He didn't give to you, and some time later, something (or someone) much better came along, and that thing (or person) you wanted initially ended up being less impressive or not as appealing as you thought it (or he or she) would be, and you were glad God knew what He was doing?
