People sometimes ask me why I’m searching for my birth mother when I’ve told everyone I couldn’t have a better mother than the mother who raised me. Well, for 4 reasons;
- I'd like to know what diseases run in my family,
- I found out I have an older sibling, and I’d like to meet him or her,
- I’m curious to know why I was put up for adoption,
- And to thank her for doing so.
There are plenty of people that have kids that they obviously don’t want or they shouldn’t have. I happen to know couples that want kids and are paying a fortune trying to have them either by adoption, artificial insemination or surrogacy.
I was never upset about my adoption. Having suspected it since I was 8, I only found out 4 yrs ago, but I’m grateful that someone loved me enough to want to raise me.
And whenever I get married, I hope that my wife agrees that we should adopt a child as well.

I think adopting a child is one of the most unselfish things a person can do. I think it is a wonderful gesture and you will be making a child very happy.
I am glad that you were raised by a loving family.
Thanks. I can't even imagine a mother better than the one who raised me.
@Daij
I think those are good reasons to want to find your birth mom.
Good luck with your search.
Thank you, Val!
Parts of our lives remain blank slates until, we, ourselves, self-educate, ask the questions & do the journeying for the answers.
All the best to you in this journey, man!
One.
Thanks man
