- * Close friends to read my blog without my having to send them links to entries they might like
- * Women in my age group or in their 30’s on Match.com to message me or respond to my messages instead of my inbox being filled with messages from women closer to my mother’s age
- * Literary agents to call me back
- * Oprah to have me on her show, with Tarsem Singh or Antoine Fuqua or Martin Scorcese and Halle Berry as surprise guests; each wanting to make a movie of one of my short stories with Halle Berry as the character.
- * My nephew to call me more/as he’s become a teenager, he doesn’t call me as much as he used to
- * My mother to have at least one week of relaxation, when I come to Wisconsin to see her next week.
- * One friend in particular to remember his lies so I don’t have to keep catching him in them
- * The teabaggers and other republicans to accept the fact that a black man is running the country and that he shouldn’t be expected to build up in one year what the former president took eight years to tear down
- * Washboard abs
- * Waist 32 jeans to fit comfortably
- * To be 6 feet tall
- * An opportunity to wear my formal clothes more often than when I go to church, or the rare date. People here don’t dress up (not even at church).

- * To be better at approaching women I find attractive
- * Excellent credit
- * To be a morning person
- * To know how to escape from people at work in passing, who don’t know when to end a conversation
